How to clean the rubber shell toe of Adidas Superstars II?

Q: How would I go about whitening spots on the rubber shell toe of my Adidas Superstars II? One of my shell toes has a little patch of rubber that is slightly off-white and I would like to know how to restore it to it's original bright white color. Thank you.

A: Magic Eraser.. it's in the cleaning products isle at the store, it has Mr. Clean on it... that's the BESTEST thing to use on your shoes... and it's gentle and safe too.

A: Most sneakers hold up well in the washing machine if you use a mild detergent and a gentle cycle. I would be very careful about drying your shoes in a dryer though, since most sneakers are made of cotton and readily shrink. A better solution would be to let them air dry. I've also found that stuffing your wet sneakers with something aborbant (like clean socks or a t-shirt) until they are tightly packed will help minimize shrinking when they dry. If you can spare the money, you can also buy inexpensive shoe stretchers at most major retailers (Target, Walmart, etc.) and at any shoe store - putting these in your shoes when they are still wet will allow you to maintain the shape and length of your shoes so that they shrink as little as possible.
