how can i get diesel out of my work boots?
Posted by the_Bengal in Maintenance & Repairs @ Oct 27, 2007
Q: leather steell-toe boots, saturated in diesel from working in oilfield, to the point that it is soaking into my socks. thought about submersing them in water completely, but unsure if diesel will leave leather. any (other) suggestions?
A: The only thing I can think of is have them professionally cleaned by a leather shop. If they cannot do it, it cannot be done.
Diesel stain on cracked leather boots?
Posted by Ros W in Cleaning & Laundry @ Oct 18, 2006
Q: I have some beautiful pink cracked leather boots
Unfortunately they have an apple sized diesel stain from a leaking nozzle when filling up at the petrol station.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the best treatment to remove the stain?
Shampoo? Soap? Vanish upholstery wipes?
Any suggestions appreciated as they are so comfortable!
A: "To remove grease stains from leather, apply
stiffened egg white to the leather with a soft cloth. Rub gently until the stain is removed."
