On the road the first thing you notice is that it doesn't sound like a diesel, thanks mainly to a new exhaust system. There's a pleasant, refined yowl as it streaks through its eight automatic gears, but it's a world away from diesels of old. Now there's a diesel version which can still gallop to 62mph in 6. The cabin is sumptuous, with acres of two-tone stitched leather and various shades of wood, depending on the model. Some people think its rear end makes J-Lo look under-endowed and that the styling doesn't work, although not all agree. However, as on various other Porsches, the rocker switches in the roof-lining look and feel cheap. Porsche's four-door Panamera saloon isn't to everyone's taste.
