Q: I recently bought a Gucci handbag. I've never owned one before. Is the inside supposed to be satin? Or have Gucci stamped on the inside other than the inside pocket? Is Gucci supposed to be engraved anywhere on the handle? It did come with authenticity cards and serial codes. Please help me out. I want to know if I have the real thing or just a high end replica. Thanks!
A: Inside of your bag there should be a Gucci flap label, under that label are the serial numbers.
Flip it over and see if there are numbers.
My bag is all leather, has leather lining inside, the inside zipper is a Gucci GG pull.
If you have a fabric Gucci bag, it will have a fabric lining. If you got leather, it will have a leather lining.
And the flap inside with the name tag has numbers under it.
You can also, go to the Gucci Website directly and see if the bag you have is on the site.

Q: I just got a Gucci handbag from someone. How do I know if it's real or fake??
A: Quality and price. I have a LV handbag (paid $700) and also a Fendi suitcase (paid $1800). I always buy designer stuff from the designer's store or a reputable high end fashion store. I would NEVER pay big bucks at an online auction site, etc. and then hope that what I got was the real thing. I once was in an outlet handbag store selling designer bags for $200 and less. I asked the girl if these were real and she chuckled and said "not at these prices". Quality and price, and try to always get the merchandise from the designer's store, then you don't have to wonder. If the bag was given to you, ask the giver. If this is not an option, you will have to compare it to the real thing at a department or designer store. You will be able to tell if yours is a fake when you hold next to a real one. Forgers can duplicate the name but not the expensive quality.
