Fashion designer Pierre Cardin has upset the locals in the French village of Lacoste, by buying the Marquis de Sades famous castle and 22 more properties. But it is the fashion designer, Pierre Cardin, who has left by far the deepest imprint on Lacoste. Lacoste was once the home of the champion debauchee, the Marquis de Sade. For many years, Tom Stoppard had a home in Lacoste and John Malkovich owns a farm in the vineyards below. Two-and-a-half centuries later, Lacoste is ravishing in the other sense. Indeed for many locals, the Cardin mark is too deep. In the hilltop chateau, he staged his famous orgies and flagellations, with local girls procured for his enjoyment. Its been called the most ravishing village in France - literally. Peter Mayle - of A year in Provence fame - lives a few miles away. They wish he would go away. Steep cobbled streets and ancient houses lend an archetypal beauty.

I know, but I'm a lacoste fanatic and these look extremely legitimate. They have the bar coded tag and the logo on the polybag. They look very authentic indeed.

A: It seems to good to be true, eh? My instincts tell me they must be knock-offs or factory seconds, but I don't know for sure.

Why is eBay banning my Lacoste lots?

Q: I have recently been selling lots of Lacoste polos on eBay, but today eBay canceled my listing because they say they violated Lacoste Copyright or something. My question is why did they ban mine out of the hundreds on ebay. I have already sold 2 lots, but i dont think i will be able to continue with ebay canceling mine. Any advice or help is very useful.

A: It's the product of the man coming down on you. Nothing you can do, except sell your stuff at a flea market.
