How different is the size of a size 7 Lacoste polo shirt compared to an American XL?

Q: I would like to buy a Lacoste shirt online and I am afraid of buying it and it not fitting. The sizing chart says that the Lacoste polo shirt "7" size is the same as the U.S. XL and I wanted to know if anyone knew how different these sizes are, if at all, so I would be able to know if the shirt would fit me or not.
A: I'm an XL myself and have lots of Lacoste shirts...both 6's and 7's. Some will say that Lacoste run small but I totally disagree. I find them MUCH looser than Ralph Lauren. If you're an XL a 7 is great..you may even want to try a 6.
anyone know if a lacoste solid polo XL will fit me good? im 5'7...?

Q:
A: They don't come in sizes like XL or XS. They come in numbers like two, four, six, eight etc... or in the European sizes (34, 36, 38 etc..)
They have sizing charts on their website

A size 12 (XL) is wore women with a 38in chest, so it depends more on your cup-size than your height. It is also 25.5in in length.
I think it will be big, considering my mom is 5'8" with a C-cup and wears a Medium, but again it depends on your cup size.
